Island of Hvar
Due to its extremely important position in the center of the main sea routes, history has left many traces on Hvar, perhaps more than on any other Adriatic island. The constant struggles for supremacy that have been waged in this area between the various invaders are only a confirmation of the significance and value that this territory has had since ancient times.The first evidence of life in this area dates back to prehistoric times, when the discovery of painted pottery in Marko and Grapčeva Caves defined a separate Hvar culture. It is interesting that the oldest representation of a ship in Europe was found on fragments of a vessel from Grapcheva shpilja.Today, Hvar is often called the "Croatian St-Tropez", and is one of the most popular Croatian islands. The town of Hvar has become a major destination for entertainment from all over the world. One of the main features of Hvar is sunlight. The island of Hvar is blessed with 2718 hours of sunshine a year, which makes it the sunniest Croatian island.

The island left a profound sense of awe on me as I visited some of the well preserved neolithic caves dating far back as 3000 years. By the end of the trip, I left feeling very restful and brand new.

The island is very lush and long. I and my partner rented a scooter to help us move around fast. It was an exhilarating experience as we let the wind blow on our faces.

I had a very entertaining trip and I particularly enjoyed the speed boat rides that were gloriously out of this world. Hvar island is worthy of much praise.

My family loved Hvar Island, especially my teenage boys who enjoyed the paint and archery games in the very exciting settings. Definitely, the island is a wonderful place for a family retreat.

We had a wonderful experience as we went on stand-up paddleboarding excursions in the afternoons. We deeply enjoyed the sunny panoramic views of the Mediterranean sea. My friends already booked a return trip to have more fun.
