Vir is a small island located in northern Dalmatia, and about 30 kilometers north of the city of Zadar along the coast. It is a popular holiday destination, with tens of thousands of tourists enjoying the island every year. This is partly due to its location and the ease with which to reach the island - it is connected to the mainland by a bridge. So as a traveler you will enjoy the unique feeling of the island, and yet be mobile enough to explore the beautiful Zadar region by car or bus without the need to go by ferry. Along the approximately 32 km long coast you will find a mix of different landscapes with rugged cliffs, beautiful pebble coves and parts with green pine forests. Probably the most impressive part of the island is the coastal part to the north. Here you can expect spectacular red rock formations with impressive turquoise colors of the sea and countless fantastic sandy beaches. Along the coast there are hiking bike and hiking trails along which you will enjoy all these picturesque natural landscapes.
