Premantura is naturally connected with Cape Kamenjak - a small peninsula which, due to its exceptional beauty and diversity of plants and animal species, was declared a protected area in 1996. The Kamenjak peninsula is characterized by beautiful bays and beaches, many protected and endemic plant and animal species. The best evidence of the ancient history of Premantura Kamenjak are 146 traces of dinosaurs found on Kamenjak more than 90 million years old.
Throughout history, Premantura and Kamenjak have been exposed to constant changes of government precisely because of the importance and uniqueness of their geographical position. Namely, in the 20th century, the inhabitants of Premantura lived through as many as six different political regimes, ie states! The inhabitants of Premantura became famous for the rich catch of a very tasty species of crab. Today Premantura has 850 inhabitants, and the main economic activity is without thinking tourism which is in constant development and growth.
Today, the city is a famous tourist destination for those who want a peaceful vacation and enjoy the natural beauty and outdoor activities (swimming, walking, hiking, biking, diving, etc.). The city is also very well equipped and can meet the needs of every tourist.
