The richness of the cave world Perusic and its surroundings are located in the center of Lika, northwest of Lichko polje and 12 km from Gospich. Perusic was first mentioned in 1487. It was founded by brothers Dominik and Gashpar Perusic, a noble family who came from Dalmatian Zagora. The site was named after them, and they built their defensive tower on the hill, which has different names in the literature - the old town of Perusic, Gradina, but most often called the Turkish Tower, built in the 16th century. The tower had three floors and was surrounded by a thick dry stone wall whose remains appear only in contours. Grabovacha Park (770 m), a unique cave park is located 2.5 km from the center of Perusic. It consists of six caves and one cave: Samograd, Medina cave, Amidzhina cave, Velika Kozarica, Mala Kozarica, Tabakusha and Slipica-jama / Japaga. In Grabovacha there is an invaluable wealth of underground karst buildings, even ¼ of all protected cave buildings in Croatia. Although the town of Perusic is located in the interior of the region, it is gaining increasing tourist importance, especially with those who love the peace and beauty of nature.
