Krasno
Krasno is one of the largest mountain settlements in Croatia, and is located on the northern slopes of Velebit at about 800 meters above sea level. It is located within the boundaries of the Velebit Nature Park. In winter, it often snows and the snow stays on the ground for a long time.The geographical position and mountain climate limited the economic development of this area. The traditional industry is forestry and wood processing. The "Forestry Museum" has been operating in Krasno since 2005. The collection contains over 300 items from the history of forestry in this area.Above the village is the famous shrine of Our Lady of Krasno from the 18th century. The church has a wooden coffered vault with painted scenes from the lives of Christ, Mary and the saints. Every year on August 15, on the feast of the Assumption, many believers from all over the country gather here.
