Gacanski park of Croatian memory is a sculpture park located in the park next to the church in Otochac, and designed to show with its stone sculptures the history associated with this area of people who were responsible for local and national history, which emphasizes that Croatian statehood from there it draws its roots.
The park is conceived as a landscaped park area between the church, the parish court and the city promenade, divided by two crossed paths and provided with thirty white stone cubes. The cubes are set in the shape of the letter L, and are decorated with various artistic achievements. A common link to all cubes are the inscriptions in the Glagolitic alphabet. Therefore, each cube represents an important figure for the history of this region and the rest of Croatia. As a visitor, you will feel as if you are part of a large stone book in which Croatian history is written as you walk through its pages, from the ancient 9th century and Prince Borne, the first ruler who created the core of today's Croatia, until the end. of the last century in which the story ends with the realization of the Croatian state.
