Lobor

Following the written past and oral narrations of the older people of this area, Lobor is mentioned as far back as 1257 as Castrum Lobor. Its name probably comes from the Latin word Labor (laboratory), and it is assumed that the Romans had their workshops and quarries in that area. As a trace of their stay, they left tombstones, one of which (cecellija superiana), excavated in 1857, is in the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb.Today, the Municipality of Lobor can be reached by asphalt road and every benefactor will find good drinking water, electricity, telephone and gas here in every household and social standard. Larger Lobor events are also worth mentioning, such as the Lobor Carnival and the celebration of the day of the municipality, Janine.Untouched nature, clean air, clear streams, cultural values ​​and big hearts of the locals are the main features of Lobor and this is exactly what is offered to all those who want to visit this area.
