Jezera is a village on the island of Murter, located in a horseshoe-shaped bay. The bay and the village are surrounded by hills, which protect the place from the wind and create ideal conditions for a boat dock. The name Jezera ('lakes') comes from the fact that rainwater creates large puddles, and next to the village there used to be a swamp. The swamp was largely drained in the early 20th century due to malaria. The first written mention of Jezera is at the end of the 13th century, but the remains of an Illyrian settlement indicate that the continuity of life here is much longer. In addition to swimming and sunbathing on numerous beaches, visitors can enjoy numerous events during the summer: fishing festivals, fig dessert tastings, poetry evenings, folklore evenings and many others. Numerous excursion boats also start from the village.

I loved boat riding here as there are no strong winds on the bay due to the hills surrounding this place. The evening here was exceptional, we were treated to poems by the poets. The fishing festivals was my best event, apart from interacting with the locals and visitors, we were given fish specialities to taste.

The location of the this small village caught my attention, it is located in a horseshoe shaped bay. I was delighted to learn how the name Jezera was derived from. It was fascinating to go for a boat excursion starting point being the village, around the Island.

We visited this location during the summer season, and i was mesmerized by the charming cordial locals who welcomed us in the fishing festivals. It was an exciting exercise to taste different types of fig desserts. Will definitely come back.

We were with my friends for our vacation at this place and it was an awesome experience to go for boat excursions from the village. In the afternoon, we went for swimming at the clear water of the beaches. Sunbathing was the best thing i did while here as i enjoyed the cool atmosphere from the surroundings.

Jezera is such beautiful town. I enjoyed my visit to this bay. Sunbathing on its beaches was really therapeutic. The view of the Sea was just marvellous. Since the bay is surrounded with hills, the weather is really calm. It is a perfect bay to relax.
