Susak is a unique island in the Adriatic both in terms of its origin and appearance. The island appears on nautical charts very early, first under the Roman name Sansacus or Sansegus. The first mention of the island in written sources dates back to the middle of the 9th century, when the Saracens and the Venetians clashed in its waters. Most inhabitants live on the island of Susak after the end of II. world war. Since 1985, Susak has been celebrating Emigrants' Day, the last Sunday in July. The first settlement, whose origins date back to Roman times, originated on a fertile plateau and is called Gornje selo, while Donje selo, located in the port, is more recent, built during the heyday of viticulture in the late 19th century.Due to its isolation, Susak has preserved its archaic speech (protected as a movable cultural asset), specific customs and picturesque costumes.

This place had the most beautiful view and amazing historical sights. The view from the rooftop of my hotel was breathtaking. I was able to see the whole town from here. The historical sights were well kept and interesting to see.

I enjoyed touring this place. I sent to the beach where I relaxed and enjoyed sitting in the cool shades of pine trees. Being a book lover, I read my books while sipping cold delicious home made juice and cookies. I watched the excellent sunset from here. It was amazing.

I had a fun trip to Susak. I enjoyed the paddle boat trips and then later walked up the hills to the fancy hotels. The views were amazing and the fried shrimps, calamari, and fried fish always made my days better. I would highly recommend it.

Every place that visited in Susak seemed to be so enchanting. Especially a visit to the beaches was pleasant. The sand bathing and swimming in the aqua blue waters was an experience I will never forget.

I had a lovely time as I visited this town. The old Mediterranean houses, the stone streets, and the warm sun made my walks enjoyable. The wine places were perfect to pop in and have a rest.
