Ston bietet eine einzigartige Umgebung als Stadt mit der zweitlängsten Steinmauer Europas (5,5 km), mit engen, ruhigen Straßen, noblen alten Häusern und Spuren alter Kulturen. Die Geschichte dieser mittelalterlichen Stadt reicht bis ins 14. Jahrhundert zurück. Jahrhundert zurück. Ston war die Hauptfestung der Republik Ragusa, deren Verteidigungsmauern als eine bedeutende Leistung der mittelalterlichen Architektur angesehen wurden. 890 Meter misst die innere Stadtmauer, während die große Mauer außerhalb der Stadt einen Umfang von 5 km hat. Die Mauern erstrecken sich bis nach Mali Ston (Kleiner Stein), einer kleineren Stadt an der Nordseite der Landenge von Peljesac und dem Ende der Bucht von Kleiner Stein, die für die Marikultur wichtig ist.

The enchanting unique environment is what makes me tour this place for the third time in a row. I especially loved walking in narrow quiet streets where i meditated and rewinded on my life. An oasis of peace and tranquility.

The noble ancient houses that are well preserved date back to the ancient times of the people who lived here. The fortress that was considered significant medieval architecture wowed me with its architectural designs. It made my kids fall in love with architect and now they have registered for a course in line with it.

We went for shopping in the shops and boutiques around this place and were delighted by the warm welcome of the locals. There were a variety to choose from, and the clothes we bought were fancy and worth our penny . The beaches here are unforgettable too.

My family and I came to this place for our one-week summer vacation. we enjoyed cycling on the hilly scapes as well as hiking. We visited the museum where we learned much about the history of this place. We had a great time and even made new friends.

The city was fabulous with ancient culture and history that is rich. The architectural buildings that stood at the city were stunning with medieval touch and several sites that we attended. Lovely place to spend time and we enjoyed the tour around the streets of the city.
