The island of Ilovik is located south of Losinj. Ilovik is the only settlement on the island, located on the northeast coast. It is mentioned in written sources as early as 1071 as Neumae Insulae (Nameless Island). The history of the island is closely connected with the nearby island of Sveti Petar, so much so that until recently they were mentioned under a common name. Today about 170 inhabitants live here. The island is known as the island of flowers, because roses, palm trees and other flowers bloom around every house. On the island, there is a shop, post office and several restaurants. Ilovik is connected daily with Mali Losinj, and with a fast ferry line with Rijeka.

I boarded a ferry from Rijeka in order to visit this Island. The view of the blue sea was so nice. The Island has existed since the late 11th century. The streets were so beautiful. They were surrounded with very beautiful flowers.

I enjoyed walking on the streets of this Island. Seeing how the flowers have been grown was so nice. This Island is quite old. Swimming in its waters is something I would live to remember. It was such a memorable experience.

The natural beauty of this location is undeniable. I was awed by the fact that roses, palm trees, and other flowers blossomed outside houses on their own, hence the name rose island. It was a great romantic getaway for me and my husband

I loved that this location was well equipped and convenient regardless of its size. There is a post office, shop, restaurants, and ferry line. I was able to easily communicate with my family and easily travel to the mainland.
