Donji Miholjac is located in the heart of the plain, it is a town in Slavonia, on the river Drava, and borders Hungary. Favorable geographical position and natural features such as the proximity of the Drava River, dense forests and such have provided favorable living conditions in the area of Donji Miholjac from the Paleolithic to the present day, as evidenced by numerous archaeological finds. Its name comes from St. Michael. In ancient Rome its name was Mariniana. There are several suggested etymologies for the name "Mariniana". One is that it comes from the Roman personal name "Marinus". The second is that it originates from Indo-European root and means "swamp valley".

This town is so lovely. It is surrounded by dense forests and also borders hungary. Its buildings have ancient architectural designs and structures. It has existed since the Paleolithic period. From this town one could see the River Drava.

We loved the rich flora and fauna at the plains. The place has an amazing landscape and wonderful archeological findings. The buildings at the place are gorgeous and better standards at the place. We received a good reception and the people are hospitable.

We were delighted to see the beautiful dense forests found here. The trees offer the town a real beauty. Our private tour to this town was great.
