Limski Fjord
Limski kanal je mjesto koje je stvorila priroda, a to je poplavljena krška dolina duga 11 km. Cijela dolina Lima se proteže gotovo do središta Istre, a duga je oko 36 km.Godine 1989. akvatorij Limskog kanala proglašen je posebnim morskim rezervatom.Strme padine uvale proglašene su nacionalnom prirodnom baštinom, bogate lokalnom crnogoričnom i listopadnom florom, s mediteranskom čarolijom.Zbog svojih bioloških i kemijskih karakteristika morske vode, područje pridonosi očuvanju i razmnožavanju riba, a posebno uzgoju školjki – dagnji i kamenica.Lokalno stanovništvo uvalu naziva Limskim kanalom, a turistički djelatnici vole je nazvati atraktivnim imenom Limski fjord, vjerojatno zbog filma o Vikinzima iz 1963. u kojem su dugi brodovi s Richardom Widmarkom i Sidneyjem Poitierom, kao i zbog filma Vikinzi s Kirkom Douglasom i Tonyjem Curtisom u glavnim ulogama.Godine 1978. u suradnji s Centrom za istraživanje mora Instituta Ruđer Bošković u Rovinju, nastao je pilot projekt kaveznog uzgoja morske ribe, a već 1981. godine nastao je jedan od prvih mediteranskih prototipova komercijalnog kaveznog uzgoja brancina i orade.Uzgoj školjaka tradicionalna je djelatnost u Limskom kanalu, obnovljena početkom 1980-ih, a danas je uz Stonski zaljev i šibenskog akvatorija na ušću rijeke Krke važno mjesto za razmnožavanje, posebno europskih kamenica (Ostrea edulis) .Uzgoj školjki zahtijeva čist i "zdrav" morski okoliš, stoga je važno zaštititi njihova staništa od onečišćenja, utjecaja urbanizacije, intenzivnog turističkog i rekreacijskog turizma, ilegalnog ribolova i drugog ljudskog uplitanja u stanište školjaka.Rijetka mjesta poput Limskog kanala pravi su dragulj, njihov posjet pruža poseban i jedinstven doživljaj ekološkog, gastronomskog i edukativnog turizma.

This bay is really unique because its surrounding nature is free from human interference. It is surrounded by different species of flora and fauna. I really enjoyed my boat ride on its turquoise blue waters. It was so relaxing.

I enjoyed the boat ride to the bay itself and the amazing view of the crystal blue waters. I also learnt a thing or two about shellfish farming and it was phenomenal, it was like an educational trip to me, the place was clean and the people there were very friendly.

The local coniferous and deciduous flora located at the steep slope of this location are a natural heritage. I loved learning about them and understanding their importance to the ecosystem. I will visit again soon with my husband who is a nature fanatic.

I was awed to learn about the active conservation and reproduction of fish, especially the shellfish taking place in this location. I learned that the process was made possible by the biological and chemical reactions of the seawater. It was a great experience.

The Place has a nice terrain with amazing nature with great flora. The landscape is great and we enjoyed hiking around the place. It was refreshing and relaxing and connects to the nature. The atmosphere at the place is wonderful and we enjoyed the place.

We went paddling at the sea and the experience was unmatched. The views of the sea was amazing and we had fun on the sea with my friends. We had a lot of other activities that we enjoyed on the sea and it was remarkable.
