Veliko Trgovišće, dražesno mjesto po mjeri obitelji, prvi put se spominje početkom 16. stoljeća. Smješteno na ulazu u Krapinsko-zagorsku županiju iz smjera Zagreba, uz obalu rijeke Krapine, odlično je prometno povezano s glavnim gradom Hrvatske i ostalim središtima Europe. Mjesto se kroz povijest širilo i razvijalo uz izgradnju ceste i kasnije uz izgradnju željezničke pruge. Svakako valja istaknuti da je na tom području kod crkve u Velikoj Erpenji osnovana i najstarija škola na ondašnjem Balkanu! Veliko Trgovišće rodno je mjesto prvog hrvatskog predsjednika, dr. Franje Tuđmana, a njemu u spomen su obnovljene njegova rodna kuća i Spomen škola s memorijalnim dijelom i galerijom slika, te knjižnicom i čitaonicom. Ovo lijepo zagorsko mjesto odabrale su mnoge mlade obitelji za život i perspektivnu budućnost.

We toured this charming location for our vacation with my family and everyone of us had something to enjoy. My kids continued their studies without disturbance in the reading room that is clean and well kept fitted with all reading materials and study utilities. Us we toured the gallery that had paintings on the walls telling a story about the Legendary first Croatian President.

This place was rich in cultural and historic heritage. I visited the ancient church which still had a magnificent bell tower. The garden was well mowed with benches scattered around for people to enjoy watching Lord's and quiet time. I loved the serenity of this place.

It was a beautiful experience visiting a place that is important in the Croatian country, the birthplace of the Croatian president. This makes it wonderful to visit and just interact with the people who are friendly, in addition to this a tour at the memorial school of the president makes it interesting to just visit and learn something interesting about the first president of Croatia.
