Tisno
In Tisno there is a drawbridge that connects the island of Murter with the mainland, and the town itself is located partly on the island, partly on the mainland. The first mention of Tisno dates back to 1474 when many immigrants came here from the areas attacked by the Turks. Throughout history, the place has been called differently: Stretto, Tijesno. There is a long history of crafts and trade in the town, in addition to the traditional activities of growing vines and olives. Already between the two world wars, foreign tourists came here, and Tisno then had a hotel and boarding houses. Today, Tisno is a modern tourist place, adorned with stone houses, spacious squares and Mediterranean vegetation. Here you can enjoy beautiful beaches, various cultural attractions and a rich gastronomic offer. There are two national parks nearby - Kornati and Krka, which are recommended for excursions.
