Brestovac Požeški, mjesto udaljeno 6 km od Požege, danas je općinsko središte, središte prometnica od županijskog značaja. Spominje se već 1302., 1336., a zatim 1445., 1534. i 1535. To je imanje prvo bilo u vlasništvu gradskih stražara ili jobagiona, a kasnije plemićke obitelji Cernica Desislavići i drugih.Utvrđeni plemićki grad nalazio se dalje uz brdo i zvao se Brestovac ili Oštri kamen. Godine 1332. godine u dokumentima se spominje župa s crkvom Sv. Martina, koja je obnovljena 1760. godine i još uvijek stoji na starom mjestu. Za vrijeme turske vladavine ovdje su živjeli Hrvati od kojih je do danas preživjela samo jedna obitelj. Od 18. stoljeća do danas bilo je mnogo useljavanja na ovo područje požeške kotline.

The town is rich in historical backgrounds which is ideal for history lovers. The phenomenal documents about the history of the town are well kept and presented in the great museums in the town. This is a great place to visit.

This place and a rich cultural and historical heritage which we found at the museum. The historical artifacts were amazing. Our guide was able to explain about the various monuments that were at this place. The tour to this museum added more knowledge about this place that we needed to know about.
