Die Ilovik Insel
Die Insel Ilovik befindet sich südlich von Losinj. Ilovik ist die einzige Siedlung auf der Insel und liegt an der Nordostküste. Sie wird in schriftlichen Quellen bereits im Jahr 1071 als Neumae Insulae (namenlose Insel) erwähnt. Die Geschichte der Insel ist eng mit der nahe gelegenen Insel Sveti Petar verbunden, so sehr, dass sie bis vor kurzem unter einem gemeinsamen Namen geführt wurden. Heute leben hier etwa 170 Einwohner. Die Insel ist als Blumeninsel bekannt, denn um jedes Haus herum blühen Rosen, Palmen und andere Blumen. Auf der Insel gibt es ein Geschäft, ein Postamt und mehrere Restaurants. Ilovik ist täglich mit Mali Losinj und mit einer Schnellfährlinie mit Rijeka verbunden.

I came here with a ferry from Rijeka, the experience was surreal, the old town has beautiful range of flowers and tall palm trees as i was cruising on one of the small boats. I enjoyed my stay here

The island is a beautiful feature, i visited three of the restaurants there just to jog up my food appetite, their meals were exquisite. I also visited the post office just to see how it looked because i didn't believe it could be here. In the end i was a happy woman

the rich history made us know that it was closely connected with the nearby island until it was given its unique name. since my kids and i loved water areas, i had to take them to island of Ilovik where they got an ample time of swimming and playing with water at the same time. this is a memorable place where my kids will keep remembering.

different types of flowers in this place are of another level, with sweet aromas all around which makes one forget of his or her problems. we got some delicious meals from one of the restaurants which had welcoming staffs. we took some photos not to forget our precious time at ilovik

Being a lover of flowers, I could not resist the temptation to visit this Island. It was even more beautiful than I thought. There were flowers of many types amidst tall palm trees. The air was cool and fresh. I took beautiful pictures of this place. I picked flowers and bought flower vases to keep in my hotel room. It was amazing.

Despite the fact that this place was small, it had a shopping center that had everything I needed. The market had fresh supplies of vegetables and there was a post office. I bought beautiful postcards and posted them to my friends at school. I loved this place.

Beautiful place that is peaceful and we went to some nice restaurants that were awesome to relax. Nice joints with delicious meals, traditional ones and a special dishes including seafood. Lovely time with family and we enjoyed every moment with them.
