Insel Cres
Die Insel Cres befindet sich im nördlichen Teil der Kvarner-Bucht. Sie ist leicht zugänglich und kann mit der Fähre von der Insel Krk oder von der Halbinsel Istrien im Westen aus erreicht werden. Aus der Ferne wirkt die Insel wie eine raue Hügelkette; selbst wenn man eine Insel besucht, findet man sie oft kahl. Einer der Gründe für diese Eigenschaft ist gerade die Lage von Cres; nämlich die Insel ist nicht vor dem kalten Wind Bura, der vom Festland weht, geschützt, so dass im westlichen Teil der Insel meist niedrige Vegetation ist, und nur auf der Ostseite von Cres findet man üppige Laubbäume. Freundliche Einheimische, schöne Kiesel- und Sandstrände, eine intakte Umwelt und klares Meer sind die wichtigsten touristischen Attraktionen und Vorteile der Insel. Was die Unterbringung angeht, so gibt es nur zwei Hotels auf der Insel, die direkt am Strand liegen und Ihnen einen erstklassigen Urlaub ermöglichen.
