The Vrljika River is an underground river, although small, it represents the jugular vein at the position of Imotski.
The source of the river, its upper course and its banks up to 100 m wide are protected natural resources. It is full of biodiversity and endemic species (especially fish), and in addition it is mostly unexplored, so its true value is unknown, but open to exploration and adventure to all visitors.
