Croatian School Museum

The Croatian School Museum was founded by the Croatian Pedagogical and Literary Association in the occasional building of the then Croatian Teachers' Home. Although the Choir started collecting content for the museum in 1871, the museum was opened to the public a little later - in 1901. Interestingly, it is the first and only such museum in the whole of Croatia. As its name suggests, the museum and its exhibition are aimed at collecting, studying and exhibiting ancient materials from the past and present of Croatian education and pedagogy. The permanent exhibition of the museum was founded in 2000 and consists of about a thousand different interesting exhibits. The pedagogical library of the museum is also very luxurious and boasts more than 30,000 professional books and rarities - namely, it is the oldest book from the 16th century. Various thematic workshops, exhibitions and events are also often held in the museum premises, closely related to the museum's theme.
