Vrbovec
Die Stadt mit etwa 15.000 Einwohnern liegt 40 km von Zagreb entfernt. Die erste schriftliche Erwähnung der Stadt stammt aus dem Jahr 1244 (Urkunde von König Bela IV.). Das Schloss in Vrbovec stammt aus dem Jahr 1528 und wurde zur Verteidigung gegen das Osmanische Reich gebaut. Später war sie im Besitz der Familie Zrinski, Erdödy, dann wieder der Zrinski, Patacic usw. Im Jahr 1621 wurde Petar Zrinski hier geboren. Von der Burg ist heute nur noch ein zylindrischer Turm erhalten. Das Gebiet ist reich an wertvollem Kulturerbe. Nicht weit von Vrbovec (in Negovac) wurde Marija Jurić Zagorka geboren. Zagorka war eine Schriftstellerin populärer Romane und die erste weibliche Journalistin in Südeuropa. Das Gebiet ist reich an ländlichen Picknickplätzen, Orten der Entspannung und gastronomischen Erlebnissen (Veranstaltung "Kaj su jeli naši stari" (Was haben unsere Vorfahren gegessen) im August) sowie an Sportmöglichkeiten: Tennis, Tontaubenschießplatz, Angeln an den Seen.

This town offers the best relaxation experience. I really loved walking in its ancient cobbled streets that looked like a scene from an old movie. It was nice to admire the old fortresses and museums that looked so magnificent. It was worth the trip.

I came here with my family to relax. There are lots of activities even for the kids. The aqua parks have nice swimming pools, saunas, and fitness centers. The kids loved this town.

I enjoyed myself immensely in Vrbovec. I particularly loved taking strolls and admiring the beautiful castles. Their architectural designs were very unique and intriguing. I look forward to visiting again.

I had a relaxing trip to Vrbovec. I delighted in visiting its beautiful spas and enjoying deep massages. My back pains were healed in this town. I left feeling like a new person. I recommend it to all.

This is a nice place to vacation in. My family and I loved the elegant hotels' delicious seafood and other traditional dishes. The waiters were friendly and the service was excellent. It's a spectacular town.
