Pakostane is an excellent destination for enjoying a summer vacation and exploring the stunning nearby sights due to the close proximity of numerous national parks and nature parks and the nearby cities of Zadar and Shibenik. This is a small tourist place with a unique position on the Adriatic coast; between two bodies of water - the Adriatic Sea and Lake Vrana, the largest lake in Croatia. The Roman port of Asseriae used to be located in Pakostane (today Podgradzhe near Benkovac), and the remains of a summer house and villas of rich Roman families from that time are still visible today. The island of Vrgada, which you can visit by ferry from Pakostane, is mentioned by the Byzantine emperor Constantine Porphyrogenitus because of its unique position as a strategic place to follow the Adriatic maritime route of that time. Today on the island of Vrgada you can find many beautiful bays for sunbathing and swimming. In Vrana, near Pakostane, are the remains of the caravanserai of Jusuf Mashkovich, built in the 17th century, which served as an inn, resting place and residence, and today testifies to the medieval Ottoman rule in this area. Vrana and Pakoštane have been hosting summer knights' games for many years, which will spectacularly depict the century-old struggle of Turkish conquerors and Knights Templar based in Vrana.

There are lots of fun activities in Pakoshtane. I particularly enjoyed snorkeling and scuba diving in the deep waters of the sea. I really enjoyed the blue pristine waters, beautiful sea creatures, and astonishing shipwrecks. It was a remarkable experience.

We visited this town as a family and ever since we've been coming back every year. We really enjoyed taking pictures of the magnificent cathedrals. Their unique designs and old stories about them left me awestruck. It was worth the trip.

My pals and I had a wonderful time in this magical town. We relished going on boat trips where we got to enjoy the stunning islands views, majestic cliffs and even saw a couple of dolphins in the clear waters. It's a paradisical town.

Pakoshtane lived up to its name as the fun capital of all watersports. My boyfriend and I enjoyed windsurfing and kitesurfing. The adrenaline rush was too much. We shall come again.

I still recall my trip to this adorable town. I loved walking in its beautiful streets and visiting the art galleries. Here I admired beautiful collections and even bought some custom-designed sovenirs. It was an unforgettable trip.
