Lumbarda has a rich history preserved in written documents more than two millennia old. In the past, Lumbarda was a country destination for Korčula's bishops and nobles.Today it is a place for a vacation on the beach on the island of Korčula. This small village, only six kilometers east of the town of Korčula, is located in a quiet bay with two sandy beaches outside the town. The largest sandy beach is Pržina, 1 km southeast of the village. Nearby is the beautiful Bilin Žal. Both beaches are quiet and shallow, so they are ideal for a family vacation.

I needed a quiet holiday in a quiet place but still interesting. I found lumbarda to be exactly that and much more. I loved to read my books in the face of the setting sun each day. it was a lovely view

Whenever I visit Lumbarda Town, I always frequent the wineries for their intriguing wines available for wine tasting and sale.

I have been to Lumbarda township numerous times and I always visit the museum to learn the history of the Greek Colonialists who controlled the land.
