This small island is often called Galevac. It is located along the coast of the island of Ugljan, near Preko. It is only 85 meters from Preko, and is only 650 meters wide. It is connected by ferry with Preko and Zadar. The island is dominated by the view of the Franciscan monastery and the church of St. Paul from the 15th century, surrounded by a dense pine forest. The monastery has served as an infirmary on several occasions throughout history, where monks cared for those suffering from the plague. Today, three friars live on the island and Mass is served every Sunday morning. During the summer months, visitors can see a rich collection of books written in Glagolitic script and a particularly valuable painting "Prayer on the Mount of Olives" from the 17th-18th century. The natural, beautiful beaches of the island provide a great place to swim and enjoy the scenery.

I went for mass with the locals on a Sunday morning and they were friendly to me, they smiled elegantly towards me giving me a comfort feeling. I also set my eyes on a rich collection of books written in Glagolitic script , then later during the day i went swimming in the beautiful beaches around. The scenery at the beach is breathtaking.

The island has rich flora that makes it beautiful from afar and closer too. It has a Monastery and a church that we toured and learned of it history and were amazed by the great structure it has and the beautiful paintings on the interior.

This Island is covered with dense forest. Its history is mesmerizing. It is popular for the Franciscan Monastery and Church of St. Paul. I toured this church and I was privileged to go through some of it ancient documents. Their ancient paintings were breathtaking.
