This small island is often called Galevac. It is located along the coast of the island of Ugljan, near Preko. It is only 85 meters from Preko, and is only 650 meters wide. It is connected by ferry with Preko and Zadar. The island is dominated by the view of the Franciscan monastery and the church of St. Paul from the 15th century, surrounded by a dense pine forest. The monastery has served as an infirmary on several occasions throughout history, where monks cared for those suffering from the plague. Today, three friars live on the island and Mass is served every Sunday morning. During the summer months, visitors can see a rich collection of books written in Glagolitic script and a particularly valuable painting "Prayer on the Mount of Olives" from the 17th-18th century. The natural, beautiful beaches of the island provide a great place to swim and enjoy the scenery.
