Nadin
Nadin is a village in the fertile valley of Ravni Kotari, in the hinterland of Zadar. This area has been inhabited since Illyrian times. In Roman times it is mentioned in sources as Nadinum, Nedinium and Nedinum. The city walls have been preserved from that period. From the 12th to the 16th century, Nadin was owned by the Croatian noble family Kacic. After that it fell under the rule of the Ottomans. In the middle of the 17th century, the Venetians liberated it from the Ottomans. The village suffered great casualties in World War II and then in the Homeland War. From the end of the war, Nadin has been actively renewing the tradition of agriculture, especially viticulture and winemaking, and developing rural tourism.
