Zavizan is one of the most famous sites in the Northern Velebit National Park. Here at 1595 meters above sea level are located the Mountain Lodge Zavizan and the oldest high-altitude meteorological station in Croatia.The meteorological station Zavizan was founded in 1953 and is very important for meteorological observations because the maritime and continental climates clash in this part of Velebit.The Zavizan mountain lodge was built in 1953, on the site of the former Krajach house. The home is open to visitors even in the winter months. The lodge has five rooms with 40 beds for hikers and travelers. Only members of the mountaineering association can order or prepare their own food and drinks.Zavizan offers a beautiful view of the sea and islands in front of Velebit, and in the immediate vicinity is the Velebit Botanical Garden.

It offered us with the panoramic beautiful views of the sea and the Island. At night, we spent our time at the mountain lodge which was spacious to accommodate the 15 of us , it was neat and freshners and air conditioners were put in the room. The staff made us feel at home.

My brother could not stop talking about this place and i couldn't refrain myself from visiting. Well, my efforts and every penny was worth this trip, the mountain has a stunning view and beautiful sceneries. I will revisit primarily to go mountain climbing.

We toured the place with my family and went climbing up the mountainous regions. It was fun and we had other activities that all of us loved. The meteorological station was pure bliss, with equipments from back in the day and the kids learned and loved the place.

I really had an epic time hiking to the Zavizhan meteorological station. It is an old meteorological station. I was able to some old weather instruments and the principles under which they work. It was an educative trip. The Mountain lodge was also tiny but beautiful.

I and my friends enjoyed the mountain view in this place. We later climbed the mountains and came back tired but fresh. I recommend it to those who love mountain climbing.

My friends and I enjoyed visiting mount Zavizhan. We had a terrific time climbing its long peaks and admiring the scenic views at the top. This is the perfect destination for all mountain climbing lovers.

We had a lot of fun on this mountain. We rented a nice lodge where we could admire the lush landscapes. The kids really learned a lot in the meteorological stations in this place and they can't wait to come back again.
