Velebit je još jedan park prirode na ovom području i 1978. godine uvršten u Svjetsku mrežu rezervata biosfere ("Čovjek i program biosfere" (UNESCO) kao svijet tišine i svježine.Unutar parka prirode nalazi se niz zaštićenih lokaliteta: 2 nacionalna parka (Sjeverni Velebit, Nacionalni park Sjeverni Velebit obuhvaća nekoliko prethodno zaštićenih područja - strogi rezervat prirode Hajdučki i Rožanski kukovi, botanički rezervat Visibaba i botanički rezervat Zavižan-Balinovac-Velika kosa, unutar kojih se nalazi poznati Velebitski botanički vrt, proglašeni spomenikom pejzažne arhitekture.Na području Nacionalnog parka Sjeverni Velebit otkriveno je više od 300 špilja od kojih su najvažnije špiljske građevine Cerovačke špilje i Lukina špilja, a u prošlosti je ovo područje naseljavao veći broj ljudi koji su ostavili tragove u brojnim ruševinama staja, sakralnih građevina i spomenika kulture. Danas smo područje je ostalo svjedokom prošlih vremena, običaja i kulture stanovnika ovog tajanstvenog mjesta.Nacionalni park Paklenica proteže se na južne padine masiva Velebita, a najatraktivnija obilježja su monumentalni kanjon Velike i Male Paklenice čije su vertikalne litice visoke preko 400 m učinile Paklenicu svjetski poznatim penjačkim centrom.

The first place that we visited on our trip around was the Park and it was worth the visit totally. We enjoyed the nature and amazing features that the park has. From cliffs to canyons and mysterious places that have dazzling views of the landscape. It was amazing to be at the park and enjoyed all the marvel of the place.

This place had a beautiful nature park with various types of flowers and plants. I enjoyed walking around the park and inhaling clean air. The lush greenery was refreshing not to mention the cool shades and a sell-mowed park for relaxing. I had a wonderful time here.

Velebit nature park is such a spectacular place. My girlfriend and I enjoyed having picnics under the massive pine trees and the cool breezes and sweet scents were very refreshing. We recommend this town to all couples.
