Kijevo
Kijevo ist ein kleines croatisches Dorf, das in einem fruchtbaren Tal zwischen den Bergen Dinara und Svilaja liegt. In der Nähe befinden sich der höchste Gipfel der Dinara und Kroatiens - Sinjevo - und die Quellen der Flüsse Cetina und Krka. Das Dorf wurde erstmals im 14. Jahrhundert unter dem Namen Kij erwähnt. Archäologische Funde aus dem Paläolithikum, dem späten Neolithikum und der illyrischen Zeit zeugen von der langen Geschichte der Bevölkerung in diesem Gebiet. Es gibt zahlreiche Überreste spätantiker Architektur, eine frühchristliche Kirche und altkroatische Gräber sowie den alten Friedhof mit stećak-Grabsteinen. Kijevo wurde während des Heimatkriegs 1991 schwer beschädigt und erholt sich noch immer.

My kids loved the cycling along the marked bicycle paths during the day which were safe. Thereafter we would have our meals at a great restaurant that made some great tasty soup. It was a great bonding time with my kids.

Being a lover of history, I visited this place to view the famous architectural sites. I was amazed at how old this place was. My guide took me through the place. I loved this place

The history of the place precedes the wonderful sites that we had the chance to go and visit. The archeological sites were interesting and the cemetery was great and the architectural buildings around made the visit worth every minute.
