Karlobag
Auf dem Weg entlang der Adriaküste, südlich von Senj, kommt man nach Karlobag. Die einstige römische Kolonie, die als wichtiger Verkehrshafen errichtet wurde, trug die Namen Vagium, Skrisia und Bigi-Bag. Im Jahr 1525 wurde sie von den Türken vollständig zerstört, indem sie niedergebrannt wurde. Herzog Karl ließ sie wieder aufbauen, und so erhielt die Stadt ihren Namen. Karlobag kann von Gospic aus über Baske Ostarije erreicht werden. Karlobag ist ein unverzichtbares touristisches Ziel und eine Gelegenheit, sich von einer langen Reise zu erholen. Aufgrund des mediterranen Klimas und der Kombination aus Meer und Bergen ist es die beste Möglichkeit, die Sommerhitze und die Frische des Velebit-Hinterlandes an einem Tag zu erleben.

I needed to get away from the summer heat and hustles of the city. I came to this mountainous place to take refuge. I enjoyed the cool climate. I went swimming in the cool waters and enjoyed the beautiful sunsets in the evening. It was cool being here.

Great destination for our trip around as we encountered amazing mountains and the dazzling sea. The weather was superb that was relaxing and soothing. We had the best time and we went for a boat ride that we enjoyed through it all.
