Ovo mjesto još zovu Vrata do Like, jer putujući iz Zagreba ovo je prvo mjesto za skretanje u ličko područje. Stara cesta koja je povezivala Liku i Gačku s morem sada je atraktivna cesta za one koji ovo područje prvi put posjećuju. Brinje se prvi put spominje 1343. godine kao „Brigna“, što znači jednostavno stablo smreke, što raste na tom području. Na vrhu brda u središtu Brinja vide se ostaci starog grada Sokoca (gradina). Osnovao ga je početkom 15. stoljeća Nikola IV. Frankopan (hrvatski knez) kao prebivalište njegove plemićke obitelji. Troslojna kapela Presvetog Trojstva sa svodovima i grbom Frankopana jedan je od najvažnijih gotičkih spomenika u Hrvatskoj.

The landscapes and the green creation at this place made me feel relaxed. I loved the cool countryside air and the flowers. The chirping birds and the smell of wet soil made me feel happy. A great gateway from the hustle and bustle of the city.

This town is just picturesque. My husband and I visit here regularly and we love kayaking and canoeing in the unspoiled rivers found here. This has become our favorite destination spot.

Brinje is a scenic place to take memorable pictures. My boyfriend and I visited the majestic ancient castles found here and we really found them intriguing. The pictures we took here were just perfect.

The beaches in Brinje are just magical. My family and I loved swimming on the beaches and basking here. There are lots of clean facilities and nice play areas for the kids. We had a memorable vacation.
