Polace
Polace liegt an der Nordküste der Insel Mljet am Ende einer tiefen, von kleinen Inseln geschützten Bucht. Da Polace an einem der Haupteingänge zum Nationalpark Mljet liegt, wird es im Sommer stark frequentiert, vor allem, wenn täglich ein Katamaran Polače mit Dubrovnik verbindet. In der Hochsaison behält Polace jedoch seinen Charakter als traditionelles mediterranes Fischerdorf, und die vorgelagerten Inseln - Tajnik, Moracnik, Ovrar und Kobrava - machen den Blick auf die Bucht besonders schön.Polace hat auch eine alte Geschichte. Man kann die Ruinen eines Palastes besichtigen, der wahrscheinlich im 5. Jahrhundert erbaut wurde. Der Grundriss des Erdgeschosses war rechteckig mit zwei markanten Türmen, die zum Meer hin ausgerichtet waren. Entlang der höchsten Mauer des Palastes befinden sich die Häuser des Dorfes und die Überreste einer frühchristlichen Kirche.

The odysseus cave in Polache is what I loved a lot. It was the best place I took snaps. A great place.

Visiting the national park in Polache was ovewhelming experience. My friends and I loved the nature and the different kinds of animals.

My brother enjoyed navigating on the tour boat in Polache. There were many boats to rent. A prolific place visit.

The beach in Polache is outstanding. The waters flow slowly depending on the level of tides. My father and I loved the beach. Fantastic.
