Paz is located on the main, and in fact the only road that could climb from the direction of Uchka and Boljunsko polje with steep and unstable ravines to the center of the peninsula and to the central settlement of Knezhija - Pazin.Namely, Paz was the center of a separate feudal lordship which had its headquarters in the local castle, the remains of which are still visible on the hill above the settlement. Historical documents reveal a number of names related to this castle, from the Aquileian patriarch, Eberstein, Walderstein, to the Barbo family who restored the castle in 1570 and to which many legends are connected, but also historical records that still make the skin itch.
