Baska Voda is a former fishing village located approximately 10 km north of Makarska and a little south of Brela; the town has about 3,000 people who are mainly engaged in tourism. The town originated from the town of Bast, which is located on the slopes of the mountain Biokovo; while the Turks invaded the area in the 18th century, people moved to the sea and founded a settlement that later became Baska Voda. Today, the popular tourist destination offers a rich gastronomic service, top quality holiday accommodation and, as in Brela, many beautiful beaches.
