Veli Izh is one of the two villages on the island of Izh, located on the northeastern part of the island of Izh. There you can feel the traditional and original way of life. Olive growing, fishing and maritime affairs are the most common among the few inhabitants of Veli Izh. The quiet location with proportionate architecture has several beautiful Romanesque style buildings. Valuable exhibits can be found in the Heritage Museum. Veli Izh has a preserved old town, and in the center of town is the restored church of St. Peter and Paul. It also has several traditional restaurants, three bars, a shop, a post office, a clinic, as well as a hotel and a modern marina. The center of the island of Izh lies in a gentle bay on the northeast side of the island. Even today it exudes the original and traditional rhythm of island life. Olive growing, fishing and seafaring are the most common activities of its small population. The daily boat connection with Zadar makes it easily accessible.
