The unique harmonious combination of the sea and the power of Velebit and the proximity of the Paklenecia National Park are reason enough to relax in Starigrad. Especially interesting is the beach Kulina, which is characterized by swimming in the shadow of the Vechka tower, which dates back to the Middle Ages. Nearby are the church of St. Petra, 14-16. century, the fortress Paklarić, also from the Middle Ages, located at 121 meters above sea level. Along the many Velebit trails, visitors will come across Mirile, a tombstone from the 17th to the 20th century, which tells of the funeral rituals of the local population who measured the length of the body of the deceased in this way and then made mirile from them. in the cemetery they visited more than the grave itself.
