Pazin Cave

This monumental cave is a part of the natural complex that includes the Pazin Abyss and the ravine of the river Pazinchica.

The cave itself was created as a result of tectonic and hydrological influences, although the local legend says it was created by the giant Ban Dragonja. Visiting the cave will prove to be a fantastic speleo adventure.

During your descent you will first come across the Pazinchica stream. It will follow you deeper underground, along a trail 200 meters long, and lead you into the cave and its eighty meters wide lake. This is where the extra fun begins since you will be crossing the lake with the help of a zipline in order to get to the lake’s strand.

The length of the entire trail is 1 km and you will be descending to the depth of 100 meters. The duration of the tour is 2,5 hours. The temperature of the cave is fixed at about 15 C so it’s best to bring a sweater or a jacket along with you, as well as good waterproof non-slippery footwear.

In order to minimize the human effect on this protected site of nature the number of visitors per tour is limited, so it is best to book your place on the adventure beforehand.
