This Dominican monastery in Bol was built during the 15th century, on the remains of the previously built episcopal palace dated to the 12th century.

The monastery’s museum houses a number of collections, including the prehistoric collection, a collection of paintings and stone monuments and the numismatic collection. The star of the monastery, however, is its altarpiece, the painting of the Madonna with the Child and Saints by the famous painter Tintoretto. It is not the only art to decorate the monastery: the Baroque paintings of the Croatian painter Trip Kokolja are also on display here. The altars, especially the altar of Our Lady of the Rosary, located in the monastery’s chapel, are a thing of artistic beauty, as well.

To top it off, the monastery is surrounded by a beautiful garden, and definitely a place to see on your wanderings around the island of Brach.
