Zavratnica
Zavratnica ist eine 900 Meter lange schmale Bucht am Fuße des mächtigen Velebit, im nördlichen Teil der Adria, 1 km südlich von Jablanca in Kroatien. Aufgrund ihrer Schönheit ist sie eine der Haupttouristenattraktionen der nördlichen Küstenregion. Zavratnica wurde 1964 zum Naturschutzgebiet erklärt.Aufgrund ihrer Lage und der außergewöhnlichen Schönheit dieser Bucht wurde Zavratnica zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts zu einem Zufluchtsort für die Wiener und Prager Eliten. Damals wurde auch ein schöner Wanderweg mit einem Aussichtspunkt und einer Promenade am Meer angelegt, der den Besuchern den Atem raubt. Außerdem wurden in Zavratnica 129 Pflanzenarten gezählt, von denen 100 autochthon und 29 einheimisch sind.

As a first time diver, i was impressed by the pristine waters here. We sailed through the water as we admired the lush beauty of the green pines and cypresses found here. The view of the water from the ship was magical.

I didn't have to look further when I found out about this place. It was small and less populated. The ideal place I wanted to go for vacation. I enjoyed walking along the semi-deserted streets in the evening to shop. The taverns served delicious foods which I enjoyed alongside a glass of local wine. It was amazing to be here.

Awesome bay with clean and wonderful beaches that are beautiful. We went for deep sea diving at the sea and enjoyed the activity. The weather at the place was wonderful and the cool waters were relaxing and refreshing all through.
