Sumartin is a small place by the sea located on the eastern tip of the island of Brac, connected by ferry with Makarska. The village was founded in the 17th century, and differs from other places on Brač in speech, mentality and customs. During the visit do not miss to visit the Franciscan monastery and museum where you can learn more about the history of the island. Some of the curiosities you will see here are the valuable Venetian Baroque canvas, the handmade floor plan of the monastery and the religious objects.

The first thing I noticed when I landed at this place was the beautiful vegetation. I was a lover of nature and was happy to be here. I enjoyed the cool air and the fresh greenery in the bushes. I took long walks to see the birds and other wildlife. It was an amazing experience.

I visited the Franciscan monastery and museum where I checked out some of the ancient artifacts of the locals and had in-depth learning of the local history. I will visit again soon with my wife who loves history.

I learned about the history behind the village and loved how the locals spoke, their mentality and their custom. I was curious to know about the Venetian Baroque Canvas and how the floor plan at the monastery was handmade. This place is really fascinating.
