Thanks to coal, the Labin region got three places, of which Rasha today bears the attribute of the youngest town in Istria. This title actually belongs to Podlabin, five years younger, who was inaugurated in 1942. However, Potpican is still the youngest place in this series, created by the Pichan mining shaft at the beginning of the 1950s. It is located at the foot of the ancient Pichan on the road Pazin - Krshan. The first shaft was opened in 1942 and coal was used there until the 1980s. Today, it is a rather neglected town. Near Potpichno is the Rockwool glass wool factory, whose appearance and size (they say the stench) spoil the natural beauty of Istria.
