Pomena
Pomena ist ein kleines Dorf und ein Hafen am westlichen Ende der Insel Mljet, etwa 2 km von der Ortschaft Govedari entfernt. Das Dorf hat etwas mehr als 50 ständige Einwohner.Sie leben von der Landwirtschaft, der Fischerei und dem Tourismus. Ursprünglich wurde der Ort von den Govedjari gegründet, da er die nächstgelegene geschützte Bucht mit Zugang zum Meer war. Sie kamen hauptsächlich wegen des Fischfangs in die Bucht. Seit dem Aufschwung des Fremdenverkehrs in der Region und dem Bau des Hotels Pomena hat sich der Ort jedoch stärker auf den Tourismus ausgerichtet.

My wife is a number one fan of this island and she always insists to come here each year. I also love it, particularly its undisturbed beaches. The beach bars are also a nice place to enjoy a drink as you watch the sunsets. Its a fantastic town.

If you are a sea waters fan then you should definitely visit this town. The kayaks and canoe trips are always a chance to have a relaxing time as you enjoy watching the beautiful sea cliffs. I highly recommend.

The nightlife in Pomena is always such a good way to unwind. Its wine bars are perfect to enjoy the exotic wines while listening to live music. This year am bring some of my friends and i know they shall love it too.

We took a trip to Pomena and fell in love with it. We always come each year and i really look forward to our trip next week. The speed bikes tours, jet skiing, and the water skiing are some of my favorite activities.
