The Paklenica Riviera delights with an incredible mix of diverse landscapes, which can change in an instant before the eyes of observers. The coast in the rocks is decorated with coves and suddenly turns into a luxurious pebble beach. Lots of amazing legends and exciting adventures, pebble and sandy beaches, home to many plant and animal species listed in the UNESCO lists, also known as the location where the cult film "Winnetou" was shot. Enjoy the mountains and the sea and make sure that this area is designed for adventure tourism. It is located in the extreme northwestern part of Dalmatia, as part of the Zadar-oriented region. Easily set along twenty kilometers of coastline at the foot of the magnificent Velebit Mountain, the Paklenica Riviera connects the mountain and the sea, the Mediterranean with a mountain climate, tradition with modernity. Starigrad, the center of the Paklenica Riviera, was founded on the foundations of the ancient Roman city of Argyruntum. Today, it is a lively tourist center with just over a thousand inhabitants, who replaced their traditional way of life at the foot of Velebit half a century ago with life by the sea. Zadar is the center of northern Dalmatia and is well connected with all Croatian cities and major European centers. It takes only one hour from Zadar to Starigrad-Paklenica.
