Known as the "golden island" for its untouched beauty, Zlarin is an island of pine trees, sandy beaches, idyllic bays and a traditional village. Only about 8 km, Zlarin is separated from the mainland by the Shibenik Channel, and from other islands in the Shibenik archipelago .Zlarin is best known for its unique culture based on picking coral and turning it into jewelry and ornaments. The inhabitants of Zlarin have long been fishermen and sailors and were the first coral fishermen on the Adriatic. There is a "coral museum" in Zlarin that explains how to make beautiful red coral jewelry, and of course there are shops to buy coral items. Traces of Illyrian and Roman settlements were found on Zlarin. From the 13th to the 19th century, the island was owned by the bishops of Shibenik and several noble families. In the 16th and 17th centuries, refugees from Turkish invasions inflated the local population, which was once again impoverished after World War II when a weak economy encouraged many to emigrate. The beautiful sandy beach, the abundance of greenery and the peaceful ambience have encouraged the development of tourism in Zlarin, which is easy to reach from Shibenik by ferry.

This island is so spectacular. Its view was so amazing. Its waters were so clean and secluded. I saw people were getting corals from the sea. The accommodation facilities were amazing. I bought some coral ornaments as souvenirs

The dense pine trees and sandy beaches in this location contribute to its unmatched beauty. They give the location a picturesque ambiance and I took several photos along the beautiful beach and while touring the green forests of pine trees.

The unique culture of the people of Zlarin of picking corals and turning them into ornaments and jewelry is one that I loved experiencing. The coral museum was efficient in explaining how to convert the converts into beautiful red jewelry.

There is beautiful museum that we visited with my friend that had coral items and explained of all the things to deal with coral. Amazing experience at the place and had to also get some of the items at the shop just outside the museum.

The place has attractive places and other genuinely great area that we visited but the beach was our final destination. The sandy beaches that we visited were the best thing to us and we enjoyed every moment at the place with great views of the sea and wonderful activities at the beach.
