The city of Dubrovnik has become a top tourist destination in recent years. It is often called the "pearl of the Adriatic" and not without reason - a rich past, numerous cultural monuments and top Mediterranean gastronomic delights are just part of what this magical city offers for exploration.

Day 1

The first day in Dubrovnik is best spent in the heart of Dubrovnik - within its magnificent stone walls. The whole area within the walls is a pedestrian zone, which makes sightseeing very pleasant. In the small streets, there are many shops with local products, nice restaurants, cafes, and of course the most famous Dubrovnik sights.

1. Stradun - Stradun is the main street in Dubrovnik's Old Town. It used to be a canal that was artificially filled with soil. Today, Stradun is the busiest place in Dubrovnik, where there are many sights and attractions, but also shops, cafes and top restaurants. In short, it is the perfect starting point for exploring the history of Dubrovnik.

2. Cafe Festival - Take a short break with a late breakfast at the Cafe Festival. Cafe Festival is located at the beginning of Stradun. It is especially known for its excellent breakfast offer, accompanied by wonderful coffee and newspapers.

3. City Walls - Dubrovnik is surrounded by almost 2 km long walls for which it is known all over the world. Throughout history, the walls have protected the city of Dubrovnik from the enemy, and today they bring visitors from all over the world. Walking through the walls of Dubrovnik, you will get to know some of the monumental fortresses that served to defend the famous Republic of Dubrovnik. Of the five fortresses, three are an integral part of the city walls - Minceta, Bokar and Saint John, and two are detached, Lovrijenac in the west and Revelin in the east.

4. Lucin Kantun Restaurant - Restaurant Lucin Kantun is located on one of the streets within the old town of Dubrovnik. Thanks to the concept of an open kitchen and a cozy interior, there is a feeling of eating in your own home. The menu offers Mediterranean dishes, as well as tapas and finger food.

5. Franciscan Monastery - The monastery was built in the 14th century. It is adorned with a beautiful cloister and a rich collection of works of art and a library. The monastery also houses the oldest pharmacy in Europe (1317), along with its inventory and preserved old prescriptions for medicines.

6. Rector's Palace - This beautiful complex was the seat of the government and the Rector of the Republic of Dubrovnik until the 19th century. Since 1948, the Rector's Palace houses a cultural and historical museum that still bears witness to the life of the old people of Dubrovnik. On the ground floor, there is a dungeon, courtroom and office. Various classical music concerts are often held in the beautiful atrium of the Rector's Palace.

8. Srd - Srd has always had an important place in the history of Dubrovnik. After Napoleon conquered the city, the construction of the massive Imperial Fortress began. The construction of the fortress was completed by Austria-Hungary, at a time when Dubrovnik was under its rule. The fortress was a very important location in the defense of Dubrovnik during the Homeland War, and today the Homeland War Museum is located here. From Srd there is a beautiful view of the walls of Dubrovnik.

Day 3

On the third day, explore the surroundings of Dubrovnik. Head to the Peljesac peninsula, an empire of untouched nature, excellent food and excellent wine.

11. Arboretum Trsteno - On the way to Peljesac, stop at the Trsteno Arboretum. Arboretum Trsteno is the oldest Renaissance garden of enviable beauty in all of Dalmatia. The exact date of its establishment is not known, but it existed as far back as 1492 when an aqueduct for irrigation was built. It developed from a park surrounded by a lavish summer house of the old Gucetic-Gozze family. The Gozze family asked the captains of the ships to return all kinds of seeds and plants from their voyages, so the planning and planting of this first renaissance park in Croatia began. In 1962 it was registered as a protected natural monument.

12. Malostonski Bay - The first stop on Peljesac is Mali Ston Bay. It is a bay as long as 21 kilometers at the entrance to the beautiful Peljesac peninsula, named after the village of Mali Ston. The bay is known for growing oysters and shellfish because its waters are unpolluted. Due to its clean waters, Mali Ston Bay was declared a special nature reserve in 1983. The name primarily refers to the inner, eastern part of the bay.

13. Oyster Farm Ostriga - You can reach the farm by a short boat ride. Here you will have the opportunity to taste fresh sea oysters combined with homemade wine - straight from the sea with a little lemon and eaten by hand. The kind owner of the farm can tell you a lot of interesting things not only about oysters but also about Mali Ston Bay, which will provide you with an unforgettable eno-gastronomic experience.

14. Ston Walls - The walls of Ston are a fortified stone historical complex dating back to the 14th century. It is unique in the world because of its enviable length of as much as 5 and a half kilometers, monumental size, defensive structures and urban layout.

15. Divna Beach - It is impossible to come to Peljesac without visiting the beautiful beach with the famous name Divna. The very name of Divna ('beautiful') beach says that it is a heavenly beautiful bay of the turquoise blue sea. The beach is partly sandy and partly pebbled. The entrance to the sea is very gentle, so it is a good choice for families with children. In the sea in front of the beach, there is a small uninhabited island, which can be swum. Near the beach, there is a camp of the same name and a cafe.

16. Korta Katarina Winery - An evening on Peljesac should be spent with a drop of excellent Peljesac wine. Korta Katarina Winery is located in a beautiful position by the sea in Orebic. The winery was founded in 2005 by the American couple Lee and Pam Anderson. During the Homeland War, they donated to humanitarian projects in Croatia, and after the war, they visited Croatia and fell in love with the beauty of this country. Thus was born the idea of ​​starting a winery in the most famous wine-growing region of the country, on the Peljesac peninsula.
