Parenzana is the name for the old railway that has been in operation for the public since 1902. The special feature of Parenzana is its enviable length - namely, the entire railway is more than 123 kilometers long! Throughout history, the main feature has been the connection of the cities of Poreč and Trieste. Parenzana is made to cross 11 bridges, 6 viaducts and even 9 tunnels - and therefore bears the title of an impressive railway. However, the railway as such was not in operation for a long time, so it was largely dismantled. However, some places of the railway have been preserved (especially in Istria) and have been converted into beautiful cycling and hiking trails that you can enjoy today.
