The Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was bequeathed by the landlord of Trpanj, Stjepan Jerolimov Gundulich, in 1645. He determined that for a continuous 40 years from his death, all the income of his real estate and movables should be used for the construction of the church in Trpanj, which will resemble the "Holy House" in Loreto in shape and size. Inside is a Renaissance altar with the coat of arms of Gundulich.
