The memorial home was erected in memory of September 1943, when the historic Decision on the unification of Istria, Rijeka, Zadar and the island with the mother country was made in Pazin.
Today it is the center of cultural and social life of the city, with the city library and reading room, exhibition spaces, concert and cinema halls, and other accompanying facilities managed by the Public Open University.
