The Church of St. Francis was built in the 15th century when it had an original Gothic appearance. Today, after several renovations, it still has a 19th century style.
In the 16th century the church expanded and got its own Renaissance chapel. Monastery of St. Frane consists of a large cloister that served for liturgical celebrations and burial of locals, and a small cloister.
Today, there is also a museum on the ground floor of the large cloister with a number of exhibits, among which the wooden relief of the Virgin and Child stands out. The Virgin Mary is the work of Andrea da Murano, and dates from the 15th century. In the courtyard of the monastery you can see a lush fragrant garden with many medicinal herbs and olive trees that perfectly complement the whole environment.
