After the construction of the Pula Arsenal in the middle of the 19th century, the rapid and numerous construction of various buildings began. At that time, the Pula market was built, a real architectural marvel and one of the most beautiful examples of Art Nouveau construction, and it was officially opened on October 18, 1903.

Today, the market consists of an outdoor area with stalls selling fresh, organic and locally grown fruits and vegetables, as well as traditional handmade products such as wine, oil and honey, and their delicacies. Indoors you can buy freshly caught Adriatic fish and locally grown meat from nearby family farms. On the top floor of the building there are restaurants and cafes crowded with visitors, especially on Saturdays and Sunday mornings.

We went in a stroll at the market and the experience was unique. We had the chance to visit gift stalls, local open markets selling fresh fruits and vegetables and some restaurants within.
