Only ten kilometers from Porech, in the immediate vicinity of the magnificent Lim Fjord in Istria, on a hill lies the small town of Vrsar, whose name dates back to the past.Namely, the ancient Mediterranean sailors, sailing along the western coast of Istria, took drinking water from a spring on the coast between Funtana and Vrsar, and thus the name Ursaria was created. In the Middle Ages, when the Slavs began to inhabit the territory, they changed the original name in their own way and got the modern name of the city which is still used today - Vrsar.Since his view reaches all the way to the coast, it was logical for Vrsar to be built in the form of a fortress with large defensive walls. Today, only parts of this solid fortification system built in the 12th century have been preserved, but still, you must visit this fortress-castle. The most famous Italian lover, Cassanova, visited Vrsar twice and recorded his experiences and pastime in his invaluable memoirs.

It is a beautiful old town on a hill, very close to Porec. We were in it after visiting Dinopark. We took a pleasant walk, took many beautiful photos. There is a small market on the waterfront where we bought some pretty things.

Vrsar itself is not as beautiful as neighboring Porec, many houses need painting. There are not so many beautiful elements on the houses, but the beautiful views of the sea and the Marina, of course, make this walk very colorful
Tihana
excellent Marina, many restaurants, possibly go for a walk in the old town

we arrived in Vrsar after Dinopark, we had a very tasty meal at one of the restaurants on the shore, and had a good walk around the old town
Luka
I like this place, the sea, the sun, the old stone town with a large church in the center, this is really Croatia for me
Simona
this town is really beautiful, with stunning sea views, everything you need for a beach holiday, and there is a place to walk in the evening. There are not as many people as in neighboring Porec, so I highly recommend staying there for a vacation with your family.

Vsar has lots of rock sculptures. I took a little walk staring at their beauty. Will come back soon.
